IRONCOLOGY
RELAYS

The Survive the Night Triathlon is the first (that we know of) overnight triathlon relay which we started in 2015. This race is first and foremost meant to be a memorable experience for both beginners and experienced athletes. The best part about the race is you don’t have to be a triathlete – if your forte is swimming, running, or biking, or something entirely different – all you have to do is work together as a team!  And we are bringing back our pure running relays - run our marathon course, or back for another year - our 12 hour ultra relay.

RELAY

Teams will complete the max distance or as much as they can within the allotted time cutoffs.  The goal will be a 2.4 mile swim, 120 mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run,  or a 12 hour relay consisting of 1 hour swim, 6 hours bike, and 5 hours for the run.

RELAY

Teams will run 26.2 miles (consisting of laps on our out and back course) crossing the finish line with the team.

RELAY

Ultra

Runners will complete as many laps of a our 4 mile Ultra course in 12 hours as they can, either running on a team or as an individual.

The race builds on the full-distance triathlon (sometimes referred to as an Ironman) and consists of a 2.4-mile swim, 120 miles biking, and 26.2 miles running. Added up with the additional distances for the transition run, plus a little give or take on the main disciplines to even out the number of laps, and the total distance is nearly 150 miles. Teams are required to complete athlete exchanges within the designated zones, so each participant must complete at least one lap of either the swim, bike or run course. But beyond that, together your team decides how to breakdown the total distance and who does what.

In order to make this event as exciting and fun as possible, we will bring in DJs, food, and other entertainment, and when you add that to the atmosphere of the event itself in the middle of the night, everyone is sure to enjoy themselves.
